Season 1964-65

1/1
1964-65 continued the decline in fortunes with only nine wins in 34 matches. The only good point of a start which saw just one win in ten games, was the debut of a young 17year old by the name of Archie Gemmill.
The Christmas period saw a better spell with six points from four games with the best performance a 4-0 win over Aberdeen.
The remainder of the season was forgettable and mainly overshadowed by off field events. Goalkeeper Dick Beattie had been charged with conspiracy to fix matches during his time in England and was found guilty in court and sentenced to prison. Although St.Mirren were no directly involved with these events the proceedings still had a negative effect on the club.
