Season 1929-30

1929-30 started with a new manager in the hot seat, John Morrison arrived from Third Lanark to replace Donald Turner who, after failing to live up to his predecessor John Cochran decided to leave. In the league the team performed well for the first half of the season with good wins over Dundee

United (6-1), Morton (5-0) and Queens Park (6-1) But they could not maintain this form and just like most of the decade, fell from the championship race to finish 5th

David McCrae was again the top scorer, for the sixth consecutive season, with eighteen goals.
