Season 1919-20

On the back of this win Saints set out into season 1919-20 with renewed optimism but they could not build on this success and a disappointing fourteenth place was achieved.

The Scottish Cup did resume, but after struggling to beat non-league Stevenson UTD 2-1 in the first round, they went out 1-2 to Ayr UTD in the second.

The final chapter of the decade was a sad occasion in hindsight!

On the 15th May 1920 Saints defeated Paisley rivals Abercorn 2-0 in the final of the Paisley Charity Cup. This was to be the last ever meeting of these great rivals, as, within a few months Abercorn were to be no more! A sad end to the Paisley derbies.
