Club Managers
St Mirren FC first appointed a manager in June 1904. Since then there have been 40 permanent managers appointed.
Longest reign is the 11 years + 9 months John Cochrane was in charge during the 1910's and 20's..
Shortest reign was the 24 hour period it took Iain Munro to accept and then decline the position in 1996.
Only Tony Fitzpatrick has held the managers position on two occasions.
Seventeen of the managers had previously played for the club.
Most successful managers are John Cochrane and Gus MacPherson who each guided the team to success in two national competitions during their reigns.
There have also been nine interim managers who have taken charge after the previous managers have left.
Only one of these men, Allan McManus, led the team to victory. The interim managers have normally left the club when the permanent man took over.
