The first version of the Saints programme was a simple black and white edition and was to remain
from 1945-46 until 1947-48.

The second version was again a simple black and white issue, with the addition of a football player
in the stripes. This appeared between 1948-49 and 1952-53.

1953-54 saw the front cover display a picture of the main stand at Love Street, and
this was to remain the cover until the end of season1964-65
|
|
1965-66 saw the inclusion of an action picture for the first time on a Saints programme. This format
continued until season 1969-70
|

|
Season 1970-71 saw red appear on the cover of the programme, the first colour ever to do so. The
cover continued to include an action shot and remained for four seasons.

The red continued for season 1974-75 with a subtle change in the lay
out of the match details which were now contained within the white border as opposed to the red colouring.

|
|
1975-76 saw a change to an orange cover with the action picture.
|
|
For 1976-77 the orange continued but the action picture was replaced with a standard Caricature of a footballer.
