The Champions celebrate
Season 2005-06 is a memorable year in the history of St Mirren.
Under the guidance of Gus MacPherson and Andy Millen, the team had shaken off the recent struggles and lowly league positions in 2004-05 when they finished the season in 2nd position behind Falkirk.
In 2005-06 they aimed to go one better and following their triumph in the Challenge Cup, they sealed the double with a 2-1 win over Dundee at Love Street on the 15th April 2006.
In winning the League and Challenge Cup, Gus equalled John Cochrane's record of guiding the team to two major national trophies and Hugh Murray became the first player ever to win three national winners medals with the club following his involvement with the Millenium title winning team.
