The youngest player to play in a first team match for Saints
is Jimmy Cowan who played in goal during the second world war. He made his debut against Dumbarton, in the Southern League,
on the 15th August 1942. He was 16years and 60 days old at the time. Unfortunately due to the war this match is
deemed unofficial in Scottish Football records.
Cowan went on to play 23 matches for Saints before moving to Morton
in 1944 where he became a hero to the fans and made 25 appearances for the Scotland national team.

The youngest official player is Scott Gemmill, who made
his debut as a substitute against Raith Rovers in a 1st Division match on the 9th August 2003. He was
16 years and 61 days old. He went on to play in 10 matches before moving to Berwick rangers in 2007

the stripes is former player/assistant manager Andy Millen who played his final match against St Johnstone on the 18th
March 2008, at the age of 42 Years, 282 days. It was his 135th match in the stripes. During his career at Saints he was a big part of the Championship and Challenge Cup winning side in 2005-06 whilst using
his experience to guide the reserve team to the Reserve League Cup the same season.
