1901-02

1901-02

Like the previous season the Scottish Cup was the highlight of 1901-02Having disposed of Airdrionians (1-0), Stenhousemuir (6-0) and Falkirk (2-0), Saints were back in the semi-final the following season. Once again the opposition was Celtic.

After a close first half, Celtic went into the second half with a 2-1 advantage which they duly added to. Saints did stage a late fight back and reduced the leeway with a Lindsay goal, but the game became scrappy and littered with fouls and Saints ran out of time for the equaliser and were left to suffer semi-final defeat for the third time in four seasons!
