Western league
The Western league was set up in 1898 to supplement the Scottish League fixtures.
It involved Saints, Abercorn, Morton, Kilmarnock, Linthouse, Partick Thistle, Port Glasgow Athletic and Ayr Parkhouse.
Saints came out on top of the league winning eight and drawing four of the matches.

The league was not deemed a great success and was abandoned after a couple of seasons.
