Mascot Profile

Paisley Panda

Date of Birth:

1996

Birthplace:

Paisley

Paisley Panda, (contrary to many newspapers, his middle name is NOT 'the') first appeared in the stripes at the start of season 1996-97, rekindling memories of his ancestors who performed during the Scottish Cup run of ten years previously.
Paisley has had many fine performances, both at Love Street and on occasional trips to away matches, where he clearly shows the footballing world who is number one!
He has endeared himself to Saints fans of all ages with his uncompromising style and ability to continually 'wind-up' our 'friends' from Greenock! Unfortunately on a couple of occasions, the local constabulary have seen fit to intervene and offer some advice on future conduct. These incidents have gone down in Love Street folklore as the 'washing' and 'Air-freshner' welcomes to our county rivals.
Thankfully those brushes with the law have not deterred Paisley's enthusiasm and he continues to entertain with some distinction.
Paisley has now a rival for the Number one spot in his son, Junior P, who was 'born' just before Norrie McWhirters testimonial in 1999. Junior P has shown himself to be capable of following in Paisleys pawsteps.
Paisley and Junior P have formed an entertaining double act which will hopefully continue for many years to come!
