George Walker

Date of Birth:

24 May 1909

Birthplace:

 Musselbburgh

George Walker signed for Saints in 1927 from Rosslyn Juniors.
A centre half in the classic mould he nurtured the ability to turn in quality performances game after game.
He was equally confident in his defensive duties as he was assisting the attack and these skill factors earned him a call up to the national squad to face France in May 1930.
Further caps followed the following year against Northern Ireland , Austria and Switzerland .
Continuing his consistent performances for Saints he gained one further honour when he played for the Scottish league against the
Irish league in 1932 before a £3,000 fee saw him leave for Notts County in 1933.
