Dunky Walker signed for Saints in 1921 from Dumbarton and made an immediate impact on the team- scoring four goals on his debut against Queens Park on 20 August 1921. He was to repeat this four goal haul just three days later against Hamilton Accies. He continued this amazing scoring rate throughout the season and finished the season with fifty-six competetive goals, 45 in the league and eleven in the Scottish Cup! This is a club record that still stands to this day! At the end of season 21/22, St.Mirren were invited to Spain to officially open Barcelona's new stadium at Les Cortes. They played several tour matches prior to facing Notts County, for the Barcelona Cup. Dunky was the hero again, with both goals in a 2-1 victory. He went on to score SIX in a 7-3 demolition of Gijon before returning home. He was not able to repeat his scoring exploits, and his stay at Love Street was to end in 1924 when he joined Nottingham Forest.
