Denis Lawson

Date of Birth:

11 December 1897

Birthplace:

 Lennoxtown

Denis Lawson's footballing career began in the Army during the first world war before he joined Kilsyth Emmet after leaving the Army. He joined St.Mirren in  1920 and quickly established himself in the first team with his electric pace. A right winger, he was an accurate crosser of the ball and was to set up many goal scoring opportunities for the central strikers.
These skills earned him a call up to the Scotland team for a match against England in 1923 and was also the reason that Cardiff City splashed £3,400 for his signature in November 1923.
