South Western Counties Cup

In 1932 the Football Associations of Renfrewshire and Ayrshire got together to formulate a four team competition involving St.Mirren, Morton, Kilmarnock and Ayr United.

It was to take the form of a semi final and then a final.

In the semi Saints defeated Kilmarnock 2-0 before going on to demolish Ayr United 7-1 in the final.

The score line suggests that it was a very poor Ayr team but, newspaper reports of the day give credit to saints for an outstanding performance that Ayr could not match.
